Church Starts When??

Tuesday January 19th we had our first weekly Relief Society Meeting, for the new year! It was formed around the theme of, Church Starts When? It was all about adjusting to our new Sunday meeting schedule.

The night began with a wonderful lesson given by Brandy Moncur. She taught us about the gifts the Savior has given us to help us enjoy the Sabbath day. Each person was given a gift that represented a gift from the Savior to help us prepare our selves for church and enjoy the wonderful sabbath.
Here is everyone opening there gift. It was a great idea and gave the chance for the sisters to share some ideas of what they do in there homes. Some of the ideas included:

writing letters, or notes to loved ones or missionaries, scrapbooking, journaling, Young Womens Personal Progress, Cubscout or Boyscout badges, cooking, perfecting hobbies, family walks, reading scriptures, enjoying music, practicing instruments, singing, preparing ourselves for our Sunday lessons. There were many ideas shared. Thanks Brandy for helping us remember how we can use our time more wisely on the sabbath.

Next up: How to get dinner on the table within 30 minutes of getting home from church!

Charise Johnson taught us how to make Italian Crockpot Chicken.

Deborah Ives showed us how to create a yummy healthy stir fry with many varieties to go with every meal style.

Karin Brown taught us how to do a quick Beef Stroganoff, cooking the meat in the crockpot while at church.
Everyone got to sample the yummy meals. Recipes will soon be posted in a few days! Thanks sisters for teaching us some new fast and easy recipes!

Sisters then enjoyed a yummy hot cocoa bar.
The Relief Society also provided some great coloring sheets with page protectors for families in the ward. It is so nice to add to the church bag with some great new ideas for the little ones.

Something new that will be available every month was the service table. Sisters helped iron and mend clothes for the missionaries in our stake.

It was a great night. Thanks sisters for coming out and braving the rain!
